Food drive brings in record haul

News-page - beacon houseThe Sackville Cares food drive collected a record 1,173 lbs of food for Beacon House food bank in February.

The SBA had set a goal of 1,000 lbs, which was easily surpassed. A record number of member businesses took part in the 2013 collection.

The February event helps Beacon House refill their shelves after the busy Christmas season.

“On behalf of the Beacon House Interfaith Society, thank you for your generous donation of 1,173 lbs of groceries, a much-needed boost at this time of year,” said food bank manager Stephanie MacKenzie.

Tha SBA would also like to thank the businesses who accepted donations and everyone in Sackville who donated.
