The 2014 Sackville Cares Food Drive, an annual event hosted by the Sackville Business Association in support of the Beacon House Food Bank, was a huge success. Thanks to the community and over 30 participating Sackville businesses, we shattered last year’s record-breaking haul and were able to raise over 1,500 pounds of food for local families in need.
“Beacon House Food Bank is a great organization that helps a lot of people. Our members are proud to support them and give back to the community,” said Michelle Champniss, executive director of the Sackville Business Association.
The Beacon House Food Bank assists over 1,500 different families a year and the Sackville Business Association’s annual Sackville Cares Food Drive has been essential for restocking the shelves after a busy Christmas season. The SBA hopes to build on the donations received during the food drive at the upcoming March Break Movie, Despicable Me, which will be showing at Cineplex, 760 Sackville Drive, on March 8th at 10am. Admission is free with a non-perishable food donation.
