Running a bookstore has been a longtime dream, and Sophia is so happy it’s bringing joy to the community. (But as an introvert, instead of her, here’s a photo of Boop, the inspiration for the store name and logo. Boop is still not in-store. Sorry!)

Ian Smith
Ian Smith opened TAPestry Beer Bar five years ago to provide thirsty patrons with the most unique small-batch craft beers from across the province. Two years ago, he took that same passion and began brewing. He says it has been incredible to watch the beer community grow day by day, and he is honoured to provide a unique space where people feel at home.

Sackawa Canoe Club is hosting a fun and welcoming Open House for the community. Families are invited to enjoy a free BBQ, meet the coaches and program staff, tour the building and beautiful waterfront property, and try out a canoe or kayak on the water. Whether visitors are curious about programs or just want to stop by and explore, everyone is welcome. No registration required—just drop in!

Savannah Sullivan
Savannah brings nearly two decades of experience in canoe/kayak as both an athlete and coach. She has coached at the provincial and national levels, including with Team Nova Scotia and Team Canada, and served as a sprint coach for Team Nova Scotia at the 2025 Canada Games in Newfoundland. Since joining Sackawa, she has taken on multiple roles with enthusiasm and dedication. Her coaching focuses on technical development, mental resilience, and inclusivity, ensuring every athlete feels supported and that they belong.
